Dr. Sami F. Trad:
Born in Beirut, 1929. Graduated in 1954 with an M.D. degree from
the American University of Beirut. Completed his training in Obstetrics
and Gynecology in London, England and Vienna, Austria, under the
famous Dr. Knaus (co-inventor of the Ogino-Knaus method of birth
control). Returned to Lebanon in 1959 and has assumed the directorship
of the Hospital for the past 36 years. Dr. S. Trad is also known
locally and regionally for having developed a popular method of
painless childbirth (the TAC - Trad Analgesic Cocktail-), which
was validated at the University of Kiel, Germany in 1972. He is
the author of a book on this subject, entitled "Programmed
Painless Childbirth" (Georg Thieme Verlag). Dr. Sami Trad is
Chairman of the Board of Trad Hospital and Medical Center S.A.L.
Dr.
Fouad S. Trad:
Born in Beirut, 1960. Received his M.D. degree from the American
University of Beirut in 1985. Completed a residency training in
Obstetrics and Gynecology at the same institution in 1988. Pursued
further specialty training in Germany and in the U.S.A. at the University
of Arizona and the University of Vermont. Became American Board-certified
in Obstetrics and Gynecology (1994). Completed a two-year fellowship
in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility ("IVF")
at Harvard University in Boston. Dr. Fouad is also author of several
papers and the grant recipient of several prestigious national awards
in the field. Today, Dr. Fouad takes an active part in the management
of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department and in the running of
its "in Vitro Fertilization Unit", in addition to his
own practice.
Dr.
Karim S. Trad:
Born in Beirut, 1961. Received his M.D. degree from the Medical
University of South Carolina, U.S.A. in 1986. Completed a residency
training in General Surgery at the George Washington University
in Washington, D.C. Sub-specialized in Endoscopic and Laparoscopic
Surgery at Case Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio. Returned to
the George Washington University where he was appointed Assistant
Professor of Surgery and Director of Endoscopic Surgery (1992-1995).
Became American Board certified in Surgery (1993) and Fellow of
the American College of Surgeons (1995). Returned to Lebanon in
October 1995 to assume the position of Medical Director at Trad
Hospital, in addition to his own General and Laparoscopic Surgery
practice.
